For: Anyone wishing to learn English or to improve their existing language skills. Aim: The course aims to give students the ability to speak and write in English. Outcome: Students will gain an ability to communicate in English, at the level and standard they choose to work to. Schedule: For students following a set programme, courses last three or four months and comprise two or three 90 minute lessons per week. Courses can also be arranged to meet the specific needs of clients. They can be run as intensive courses on an in-company basis, or spread out over a number of weeks. Content: General English courses cover the full range of abilities: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced. They are taught using the internationally known “Headway” series of English training programmes. Students taking these programmes who wish to receive a certificate can take an examination at the end of the course. Options also include the internationally recognised IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) examinations.
