For: Students wishing to develop an understanding of business English. Aim: This course aims to develop communications skills in English and provide a basic understanding of current business theory and practice.
Outcome: On completion of the course, students should have an improved understanding of business matters and be confident in their use of business English
Schedule:72 x 90-minute lessons (three per week) over two terms. Lessons are in English Content: This course will include the following:
• recruitment and selection • company structure; types of company • meetings; presenting an argument • business correspondence; re ports; telephone techniques • presentation skills • finance and financial institutions • freight: transport; customs • planning a business trip • imports and exports: documentation • consumer research; target advertising; • product description • decision making • internal communications • customer services .corporate image: sponsoring • negotiation skills: language of negotiation; • case studies • language of agreements and contracts
